While the frigid winds of Lake Superior that sweep across the landscape of Duluth, Minnesota weren't part of the filming of the upcoming movie "Leatherheads," starring George Clooney and Renee Zellweger, it didn't stop them from visiting the town which is the setting of the film.
Leatherheads is based on an old football team from the earlier 20th century named the Duluth Eskimos. The film had to change the name of the team because there was drinking in the movie, and the National Football League wouldn't allow its brand to be connected to the project because of that.
So now Clooney will play the role of a football play on the Duluth Bulldogs who is nearing the end of his career, with Zellweger playing the role of a newspaper reporter from Chicago.
Zellweger did some bashing of the town through her character in the film, but said "I didn't write it. I just do what I'm told."

The two came in on a train, arriving at an old train station called the depot. I know the place well, I was born in the town. Hey, if it's good enough for Robert Zimmerman (Bob Dylan) it's good enough for me. Dylan was also born in Duluth, Minn.
The two will continue to travel around the country, as they already swept through George Clooney's old stomping grounds in Maysville, Kentucky, and are heading through promotion stops in North and South Carolina. The filming was actually done in the two states.
