Five months ago 17-year-old Sophie Wilkinson was left in a coma after being critically injured in a car accident. Desperate for a breakthrough, her father Andrew contacted Depp asking for help.
Andrew said: "We are looking for the key to wake her up, so we wrote to Johnny and he said he would do the recording in the voice of Jack Sparrow (his character from Pirates of the Caribbean).
"Only this week Sophie moved her right leg, which she has never done before. When we got home my wife and I were jumping for joy!"
The reason Depp was asked for was he is the favorite actor of Sophie.
Evidently Depp was so touched by the letter sent from Sophie's parents, that he committed himself to doing anything to help he could.
