The actors names attached to the upcoming Fox (NYSE: NWS-A) "Dollhouse" aren't exactly household names, but that shouldn't matter to the loyal fan base that Joss Whedon has surrounding his works.
Joining Eliza Dushku as part of the cast are Enver Gjokaj, Fran Kranz, Tahmoh Penikett and Dichen Lachman.
For the uninitiated, "The Dollhouse" is actually a place where people are imprinted with new identities, including false memories so they don't know who they are. The reason for this is so they can be sent out and perform a number of deeds of a sensitive nature.
What are called "Dolls," are those who have been imprinted with the false memories. Sounds a little like Matt Damon's character as "Bourne," or Arnold Schwarzeneggar in "Total Recall."
Although Dushku is pretty well known, the only other actor most viewers will recognize is Tahmoh Penikett, who Battlestar Galactica fans especially will immediately remember as "Helo" in the Sci Fi series. Some Smallville fans will know who he is, as he's appeared in that series a number of times as well.
Fox ordered seven episodes of the series.
