MSNBC has decided to cancel the Tucker Carlson show, and put a new show in its place called "Race for the White House," hosted by David Gregory.
The show will take "a daily look at the latest presidential-election news anchored by NBC News chief White House correspondent David Gregory," said Broadcasting & Cable.
Even though Tucker Carlson has been tried in a variety of shows and formats, it seems the liberal viewers of the MSNBC network never connected with him. Carlson will stay with the network in some capacity that hasn't been named at this time.
Other changes the network is making during the political season is to move Andrea Mitchell to an anchor position at MSNBC daily from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. Mitchell is the Chief foreign-affairs correspondent for MSNBC.
The former show called "Live with Dan Abrams" has been changed to "Verdict with Dan Abrams," and will be shown from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. every weekday.
"Countdown with Keith Olbermann" will get a replay of the show, which will air at 10 p.m.
