Richard Quest, a CNN reporter from Britain, was ordered by a New York judge to get six months of counseling after he was arrested in Central Park in possession of methamphetamine.
Quest was arrested in the park after the 1 a.m. curfew, being apprehended by police at about 3:40 a.m. Friday morning. It was at that time they discovered the drugs, when police found a plastic bag in his pocket, said police spokesman John Grimphel.
According to Quest's lawyer Alan Abramson, "Mr. Quest did not realize that the park had a curfew and was returning to his hotel with friends. The matter is scheduled to be dismissed."
Judge Anthony Ferrara said he'd dismiss the case if Quest agreed to go to 6 months of counseling.
Quest is the host of CNN Business Traveler, as well as a news reporter on CNN International.
