
NBC (NYSE:GE) likes what they see with the National Hockey League, as fans are starting to come back to watch the games after abandoning them when they canceled the entire 2004-05 season. NBC says ratings for their "Sunday Game of the Week" have risen by 11 percent over last year.
"There have been positive signs for the league, both on and off the ice," said Dick Ebersol, chairman, NBC Universal Sports & Olympics. "We're thrilled. We believe this is a sport that will continue to grow."
The new deal with run through the 2008-09 season, which will continue the "Sunday Game of the Week" regular season broadcast, and then continue on with up to 15 post-season games.
Regular season Sunday broadcasts will inlude a flexible system where NBC will be able to choose from three games played on Sunday afternoons.
No details of the revenue side of the deal were disclosed.







GE it seems to me will not bring of any prospect in our hockey.
