Oliver Stone is looking to Thandie Newton as his choice to play Condoleezza Rice in his "W" project. At the same time, negotiations are also close to being finalized with Ioan Gruffudd to play the role of President Bush's ally Tony Blair.
This all comes after the Bush family was first cast, as they've been put together, and now the characters surrounding the drama are being added.
Major roles in the administration yet to be cast are Karl Rove, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld.
You'll know Newton from her role in "Mission Impossible: II." where she was the lead lady, and also for "The Pursuit of Happyness."
Gruffudd of course played in the "Fantastic Four" film series, as well at in "Titanic."
Playing "W" will be Josh Brolin, with George Sr. being taken up by James Cromwell. Elizabeth Banks will play Bush wife Laura, and Ellen Burstyn Bush's mother Barbara.
As far as looks go, I love Banks in the Laura Bush role. Put a wig on her and she looks just like her. We'll see that in the film I'm sure.
