There have been attempts to link Tom Cruise with a Scientologist practicioner of alternative medicine, Feline Butcher, who has been charged with 18 counts of practicing medicine without a license.
Rumors were Cruise had hired Butcher as a health advisor, but according to a representative of the star, who denied the rumors, "(Feline Butcher) was not his advisor. He has nothing to do with her."
The charges against Butcher come from her attempted treatment of Clive McLean, a cancer patient who died in 2005 after his widow claimed Butcher had convinced her husband to drop chemotherapy and instead employ alternative treatments considered useless by McLean's widow.
Butcher is scheduled to stand trial on April 18 at Los Angeles Superior Court.
