Deborah Jeane Palfrey, who was convicted recently of running a high-end prostitution ring, committed suicide in Florida. Her body was discovered in a shed close to the home of her mother's house.
The story of Palfrey running the prostitution ring made worldwide headlines because of some of the high-profile clients involved; including politicians.
This isn't the first suicide in connection with the "escort" service, as a forerm professor from the University of Maryland, Brandy Britton, also committed suicide after she was arrested on prostitution charges in 2006.
Oddly enough, Palfrey said after she was arrested on prostitution charges: "I guess I'm made of something that Brandy Britton wasn't made of."
This was the same incident and case that exposed Navy hooker Rebecca Dickinson, which also made headlines across the world.
As far as Palfrey goes, she had denied knowing about her escorts providing sex for clients, she claimed it was supposed to be a "fantasy" service.
Palfrey was convicted of racketeering, money laundering and using mail for illegal purposes.
Police said there was a suicide note, but declined to reveal the contents or the method used by Palfrey to kill herself.
