One of the funniest comics in showbiz, Harvey Korman, died Thursday at the age of 81. He died of of complications connected to an abdominal aortic aneurysm he suffered several months ago.
If you ever have seen the Carol Burnett show, and the extraordinarily funny scenes Korman partook in, you know how unique and talented Korman was. When you take the entirety of it, Korman was part of an extraordinary ensemble of funny characters, and anyone growing up or watching him appreciate how funny it was, especially when Tim Conway and Korman tried to outdo one another by trying to make each other laugh while performing their skits.
Korman also had parts in a number of other TV shows as well as movies. He won four emmy's during his career. He started off his show business career on the Danny Kaye show in its second season. He worked there until it was canceled in 1967, when he was hired for the first season of the Carol Burnett show.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Fritz, and four children, two of which were with his first wife Donna Elhart.
