An unnamed source close to the situation disclosed to Anthony Gargano of Philadelphia's WIP Radio that Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison is the subject of an investigation for a shooting which took place earlier in the week in Philadelphia.
Harrison is being investigated for a shooting which took place in a bar he owns in North Philadelphia.
Lt. Frank Vanore said that whil Harrison has been questioned about the shooting, at this time he hasn't been charged with a crime or arrested.
"He was interviewed," Vanore said Friday. "Why he was interviewed, that is all part of the investigation. No one is a suspect."
Citing the source, ESPN said "the alleged victim came into the bar, Playmakers, around 5 p.m. and engaged in an argument with Harrison, who was at the bar. The victim then left the bar, heading to his car, with Harrison following. Gunfire broke out, the victim was hit in the hand, and a young girl was slightly injured by flying glass from a car that apparently was hit by a bullet."
Evidently when the police arrived, the victim of the shooting refused to identify the shooter, although ballistic tests revealed the gun used in the shooting was one like Harrison owned: a custom-made Belgian weapon.
When police questioned Harrison at a car wash he owns, he said he had such a gun, but said it was never out of his home in Philly.
Even so, the source claims the gun was recovered in a bucket at the car wash, and tests confirmed the bullets recovered at the scene matched the gun.
Harrison could face NFL discipline, as well as being charged with a crime, even if he wasn't involved with the shooting. Pennsylvania law stipulates that if a gun you own is used in a crime, you could be charged minimally with a misdemeanor.
A lawyer of the alleged victim has contacted the police, and at this time the police are waiting for the victim of the shooting to come forward.
The bar Harrison owns is called Playmakers.
