The sequel in the popular Chronicles of Narnia Series, Prince Caspian, is tracking strong as its opening approaches on Friday, as numbers show it's favorable to Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix right before it opened.
One statistic Caspian beats Phoenix in is with females, where over 25 percent recognize the film without aided awareness, whereas Phoenix had only 20 percent numbers there. That should equate to high numbers of children attending the film, as well as pent up demand.
With these unsurprising numbers, it should guarantee we'll see the entirety of the series on the big screen, as there are seven books written by C.S. Lewis to tell the Narnia tale.
The first installment in the series, "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," grossed about $745 million worldwide, making this a huge franchise in the making.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, co-produced by billionaire Phillip Anschutz's Walden Media and the Walt Disney Co. (nyse:DIS), is expected by some to perform even better than the first film, with projections worldwide at over $750 million.
