In an interview wih Meredith Vieira on the "Today" show, Miley Cyrus' dad Billy Ray said he didn't approve of the photo taken by photographer Annie Leibovitz. Of course it was naive of him to think anything different would have happened with someone like Leibovitz and her past history.
Billy Ray said to Vieira on the show: "I didn't know they were gonna strip her down and wrap her in a blanket."
When asked why he has been largely silent on the issue, he had cited input from his dad, "My dad always told me the more you stomp in poop, the more it stinks. So I was just, 'OK, this happened. We got to deal with it.' "
Another question concerning what some considered an inappropriate photo of him and Miley that gave the impression more of a boyfriend and girlfriend, rather than a dad, Billy Ray said it was simply a daughter and her daddy that love each other a lot.
Cyrus confirmed that he had left the shoot before the shot was taken for Vanity Fair.
A large number of people felt it was irresponsible for him to leave Miley alone at the shoot. What do you think?
