Saying that "General Hospital doesn't seem to want to completely get rid of her character, Genie Francis says she'll be back in another short stint as Laura Spencer; this time underscoring her relationship with her on-screen daughter Lulu, played by Julie Marie Berman.
You gotta figure using the disease her character has on the show, where she continually slips in and out of consciousness, is a good tool to give an excuse to bring her back occasionally.
The last time Francis reprised her role in the Soap, she remarried Luke, before falling back into a catatonic state. Now when she comes back Luke will be remarried to one of the evil characters Tracy. Fans are wondering if that will be a large part of the short return.
The marriage between Luke (Anthony Geary) and Laura garnered a huge 30 million viewers in 1981.
Francis has said she would love to get back into the series full time, but added that it seems they only want to use her character at the moment when sweeps time comes around.
She left the series in 2002, while lapsing into a coma as part of the show. She started playing the role in 1976.
