It has been officially confirmed that Shannon Doherty will be returning to 90210 to reprise her role as Brenda Welch. Also returning will be TJoe E Tata, Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth.
Already people are talking about the potential fireworks between the actresses, who have no love lost between them, and the possibility of the series being crippled by the dysfuntional behavior of Doherty.
In other words, it's going to get interesting again. The key will be keeping the interest without it getting so weird that is starts to be not believable, or so over done that it becomes boring.
Buzz is already being generated on the past shenanigans between these actresses, and questions on whether they'll be able to function together.
To me, what really matters is if fans of the show will want to pick up where things left off before, and be brought through the same ringer again.
What do you think? Will the behind-the-scenes behavior be more of a distraction to the show, amd have you had enough of that, or does it make it all the more interesting?
For me, I don't think they'll be able to go back and recreate what was there before. It'll probably give the new 90210 a temporary boost, and then flatten out or plunge in viewership.
Core fans will flock to it in the beginning; the question is whether it will draw in any new viewers.
The show is set to premiere on The CW September 2.
