George Lucas returns to the Egyptian Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard on August 10 to premiere his latest installment of Star Wars: "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." The film is an animated feature.
It's not the first time Lucas has used the theatre for a premiere, as it was also one of two used to open "The Empire Strikes Back" as well.
"Few cinemas have had the opportunity to host a premiere of a 'Star Wars' movie, and we are tremendously excited that the historic Egyptian will soon be one of them," said Barbara Smith, director of the American Cinematheque.
Tickets will benefit American Cinematheque - which is housed in the Egyptian - until July 23. After that they'll be available to the general public.
The premiere will start at 4 p.m. at the theatre, and five days afterwards will open nationwide.
This is a prelude to the highly anticipated animated TV series called by the same name, which will launch on TNT and the Cartoon Network.
Some veterans of Star Wars are returning as voiceovers, with Anthony Daniels reprising the voice of C-3PO, Samuel Jackson returning as Mace Windu, and Christopher Lee back as Count Dooku.
The setting of the film and TV series will be between the 2nd and 3rd films, tell the story of the civil war in the galaxy, and some of the battles between Anakin Skywalker and Jabba the Hutt.
The voice of Anakin will be Matt Lander, while Obi-Wan Kenobi will be spoken by James Arnold Taylor.
