Does the name Wally Amos ring a bell to you? He is the unique promoter, turned cookie giant, that is known as "Famous" Amos.
He became known as the father of the gourmet cooking industry in Hollywood around 31 years ago.
A little known fact about Amos was that he was pretty well known before he ever made his famous cookies. In the 1960s, he was an agent for the theatrical company named William Morris Agency.
According to Amos he was the first person to book Simon & Garfunkel and the Supremes as acts. He eventually left the William Morris Agency and created his own management company before leaving show business all together and then becoming the "Famous" Amos we have all come to know.

He says “It was fun, but show business was never something I was overly excited about. I never woke up so happy to be in show business. It wore thin after awhile. By the latter part of ’74, I was thinking of doing something else.”
